The VCU School of Dentistry’s White Coat Ceremony symbolizes dental and dental hygiene students’ entrance into the health-care profession of dentistry and marks their transition from the study of preclinical to clinical health sciences.
Faculty members find it a privilege to present second-year dental students and junior dental hygiene students with their white clinic jacket. The presentation will conclude with students taking the professional pledge. This year's ceremony will take place Friday, Feb. 21 from 2-4 p.m. at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Ballroom 21a.
We are excited to offer each member in the DDS Class of 2016 and DH Class of 2015 tickets for invited friends and family. Each member of the class will receive 4 tickets for individuals to join them in this important celebration. Students do not need a ticket to enter.
Tickets will be distributed Monday, Feb. 17 outside the Crockett Lounge from 12-2 p.m. If you are unable to pick up your tickets during that time, please see Cindy Cheely in the Dean’s Office (Lyons 450) any time before Friday to pick up your tickets.
Be sure your guests have their tickets when they arrive for the event. Based on seating capacity and fire safety regulations, all invited guests must have a ticket to enter the Ballroom.
Students are encouraged to send an announcement of this event to immediate family members who are welcome to come and share in this experience.
Students may register guests online through the student and faculty intranet. The deadline to register guests is Monday, Jan. 13.
